McFarland's Down befindet sich in der Nähe des Telegrafenmastes, wo Marconi 1898 das erste transmarine Funksignal von Porthcurno in Cornwall empfing. Nicht weit von meiner sehr empfehlenswerten Unterkunft, dem Sylina Guest House, steht der Long Rock ca. 2,40m hoch in einem Meer aus Farn.
McFarland's Down is close to the Telegraph Tower, where Marconi in 1898 received what was then the longest-ever transmarine wireless signal from Porthcurno in Cornwall. Not far from my excellent accommodation Sylina Guest House stands this menhir ca. 2,40m in height in a sea of ferns.
