Der viereckige romanische Turm stammt aus ungefähr 1140 und war usprünglich freistehend als Verteidigungsanlage für die Mönche von Culdee. Die Fundamente gehen jedoch zurück auf das 9. Jahrhundert. Später wurde der Turm in die Pfarrkirche einbezogen, die bis ca. 1825 benutzt wurde. Der Turm ist 21 Meter hoch. Die alte Kirche von Muthill steht heute unter dem Schutz von Historic Scotland.
The square Romanesque tower, dating from about 1140 originally stood alone and was used by Culdee Monks for defence. The foundations here dating back to the 9th century. Later the tower was incorporated into the Parish Church which was in use until about 1825. The tower stands about 21m high. Mutill old Church is now in care of Historic Scotland.
